No, you are wrong.

1.2.2 was quite a mess by many metrics.  I'm disinterested in
reviewing the reasons when the source material evidence is so fresh in
various mailing list archives.  It's not important, I hope, and if you
are curious: spend 12-14 hrs reviewing the history and *then* pose
your questions.

The positive view, sidestepping all soap-operas related to 1.2.2, is
that we should have a 1.3 test candidate release next week and fans of
1.2.2 can look at that, compare to 1.2.2, and help close any gap that
needs closing.   Meanwhile, the GNU project will have a more stable
and trustworthy process developing.
