[Fsfe-uk] Lots of little bits

Okay - I know this is a really unfocussed mail but here goes anyway :

1. Committee members

a. Who are they so far - I know an email went out requesting their postal addresses, but that doesn't really tell the rest of us.

b. Are there any specific posts outstanding and/or do we still need more, in which case I suppose I'm volunteering!

2. Payment methods

I may have overstretched the boundaries of what a list member should do, but, I contacted uklinux.net to see how they in their various guises (Definite Software, uklinux.net, Cheeplinux) and asked them how they cope with CC transactions. They use WorldPay, who charge a but more than a Merchant account would cost, however - I asked if they might be willing to let us use their account and they said yes in principal. The person I spoke to was Brian, and he said yes, providing there's no VAT issues etc. which Lance would know about. Unfortunately Lance is on holiday until Wednesday and so Brian asked me to email them both with what our ideal situation would be, bearing in mind that they are obviously not going to swallow the surcharge! Would anyone else like to proceed this, as I am probably not the best person to finalise this kind of thing, but I have set the wheels in motion.

3. Hosting

Uklinux.net do free hosting for community projects, and Brian was at the Sheffield gig, and said we definately fall into that group, so maybe MJ Ray might want to contact them re that anyway.

Okay, I think that's enough, maybe "little bits" wasn't apropriate, but what the hey.
