_Yours_ is the weak argument. You're arguing for a change that

it will leave other issues unsolved. As I said, you're proposing a
non-solution to a bogus problem.

Of course it won't solve every problem that can arise with case insensitive filenames any more than adding mpeg4 support to my mp3 player will solve all of the problems I have acquiring music.

It will, however, solve the problem that occurs in normal use and only affects the revision control system itself.

I have not argued the cost, only the necessity to not break when used on popular systems.

Um, so we should all complain to Apple and Microsoft that their
products are incompatible with arch?

Why not? Because they're richer than you?

That's a poor excuse for giving them a pass.

No, because all of my other tools work just fine, and I don't see why I should bug my vendor because yours does not.

I really like this product, but I don't have time to explain
what it is in the first place to companies too large to care in
the hopes that they'll think it's important to change
fundamental properties of their operating systems.

Upgrade to better systems. Just stop giving them money.

I don't know of a better system. The only problem I have with this one is that your product breaks when I work with someone who doesn't agree on the capitalization I use on a private branch.

I bought another Mac today, in fact, and I have plans for more. I actually do quite a bit more than play around with arch. I write software that sits in it. I make music, movies, and things to move around music and movies. I don't really have a desire to change everything I do because you consider my filesystem broken.
