That shines a light on solid evidence.

AFAIK, no one has gotten a 9-series and gpsd to do RTK.

Any way you could get serial captures of the data to the receiver
for both (gpsd and str2str) cases?

Maybe the receiver needs to be configured differently than gpsd
configures it.  Maybe the NTRIP is adjusted by str2str.  Just guessing
out loud.
