Yes, that's possible.  Unfortunately, there's no knob to add some
additional comment to the "Use CVS" page (under "Source Code"), so the
only way to inform others who might be innocently browsing the CVS
tree about the move to Git is to drop some explanation file into the
CVS tree.

(Next version number)

That would sound quite good to me, and hopefully also address some
remarks made by Michael.
