also, i seem to remember some people (LV?) have problems with  ^e^e .

i've already voted in favor, so won't vote again.

a good point: why not add a command-line message?
eg "^x is the text-area escape character: please enter a Lynx command".

documentation should ALWAYS be updated AS PART OF any coding changes
which change Lynx behaviour.
