Wait,

If the mouse is hidden, there is no need to hard-place the mouse on the
same place in the screen. In fact, there is not need to "lock the mouse"
if the mouse-cursor is hidden. . . . Thus, if we hide the mouse, there
is no screen problem at all!!!

So that could be it. When you press the [ZX]+LR, the mouse-cursor is
hidden and replaced by a Pop-up window somewhere in the screen. The
action is performed. After the action is done, the popup-window (or
whatever we decide should be the visual-feedback) goes away, and we have
the mouse restored at whatever point it was before.

How's that?

RFC
Fabio.
PS: Its important to point out that whatever we choose here has to be
consistent with all the other actions that use similar interfaces, such
as GAIN and PAN actions, Vertical Zoom, and other options such as Volume
control, and others. Basically, if one is like this, all the others have
to be like it. We should choose very carefully.

PPS: I want to emphasize the need to establish two other functions
related to these kinds of actions: 1. keys for fine adjustment control
and 2. a "dialog box" for direct input of of what values you want.
