It would be pkgconfig for versions of Slackware prior to 12.0.  With
version 12.0, the package name was changed to pkg-config.  From what
I've seen, it provides additional package configuration m4 macros and
that cleared up my problems with autoconf and PKG prefixed macro used
in speechd.
