Sure, sorry about that...

I'll give python a try; but, in the meantime, I've tried the simple sine
patch (sine_fcac->out) on my laptop and have encountered the same
problem, i.e no sound. Here's a little more information about the two
systems:
1) Desktop
$ ldd /usr/local/bin/om
        linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)
        libjack.so.0 => /usr/lib/libjack.so.0 (0xb7edc000)
        liblo.so.0 => /usr/lib/liblo.so.0 (0xb7ed2000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7e80000)
        libasound.so.2 => /usr/lib/libasound.so.2 (0xb7dcb000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0xb7dc7000)
        librt.so.1 => /lib/librt.so.1 (0xb7db3000)
        libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/libstdc++.so.6
(0xb7ce3000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0xb7cbf000)
        libgcc_s.so.1 => /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/libgcc_s.so.1
(0xb7cb6000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xb7b9e000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7ef9000)
-- jackd 0.100.7, gcc 3.4.4, Gentoo (up to date)
2) Laptop
$ ldd /usr/local/bin/om
        linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)
        libjack-0.100.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libjack-0.100.0.so.0 (0xb7f21000)
        liblo.so.0 => /usr/lib/liblo.so.0 (0xb7f18000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7f06000)
        libasound.so.2 => /usr/lib/libasound.so.2 (0xb7e53000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/tls/libdl.so.2 (0xb7e4f000)
        librt.so.1 => /lib/tls/librt.so.1 (0xb7e46000)
        libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0xb7d6a000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/tls/libm.so.6 (0xb7d45000)
        libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0xb7d3a000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (0xb7c03000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7f40000)
-- jackd 0.100.0, gcc 4.0, Debian testing (up to date)

Both otherwise play audio without problem, obviously.

Any suggestions? Should I perhaps give up on 0.2.0 and try compiling
from CVS?

Thanks,
S.M.
