As previously stated, yes, this is uncommon. If there is a bug in
"Linux's" vfat driver or FAT32 itself I can only speculate. Thought I
would believe that the vfat authors have solved it in the best way
possible.

If this is an easy "fix" in Monotone, then it's probably wise to avoid
the potential problem, since it would make the tool _usable_ for more
people (in contrast to the discussion about preference for 'monotone',
'mtn' or the like). I would guess (without looking in the source) that
this is just a one-line fix? If not, then please forgive my ignorance.
