Also, it would be a good idea to change the description to (The ्-deletion rule is a deviation from ITRANS.):

Given the above, it would also be a splendid idea to change the filenames fro *-itrans.mim to *-transliterate.mim .

Please try the attached one.
It works well! A defect:
har.. yields हर्। rather than हर। 

2. Now we certainly need sa-itrans.mim.

3. Also, ma-itrans.mim should point to hi-itrans.mim (I don't see the point of having two separate mappings which need to be updated..); better yet - hi.itrans.mim could be renamed to deva-itrans.mim (for devanAgarI script). Many are the languages which use the devanAgarI script - hindI, marAThI, bhojpurI, nepAlI.
