you did not write you use stable Debian, I thought it is an experimental. :D

Interesting, I would expect something like:
debian:~# ldd /usr/lib/libspeechd.so.2
       linux-vdso.so.1 =>  (0x00007fffe0aea000)
       libglib-2.0.so.0 => /lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 (0x00007f091c8f2000)
       libpthread.so.0 => not found
       libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00007f091c591000)
       libpcre.so.3 => /lib/libpcre.so.3 (0x00007f091c360000)
       /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f091cde8000)

if libpthread is not found.
