What I can see is that Milan Zamazal has spent his time
to write you a very detailed reply, found some bugs and reported
them to the project maintainer (me). He has suggested to you
several ways how to overcome your problems.

He is also trying to help you by asking follow up questions,
but you did not reply, so he can't help you more.

I cannot confirm that Speech Dispatcher is not working
under Debian. You have simply started out with changing
the default configuration (unix_socket to inet_socket), then
found problems.

If you install with a clean configuration, do not attempt to
manually start Speech Dispatcher as a system service,
and do not set any environment variables, Speech Dispatcher
0.7 should be working fine for you in Debian.

It is with the non-default configurations that we found some
bugs in 0.7 and these were fixed right in the next release 0.7.1,
also thanks for the detail report by Milan Zamazal.

I think you should make more effort to understand other
people before jumping into conclusions.

Best regards,
