Follow-up Comment #25, bug #60016 (project octave): I assume it would be reasonable to keep the base name of the library for the flags. The BLAS library could be provided by various alternatives, but BLAS_LIBS variable is still used to say what the linker flag should be. Even for a configure test, might as well write good code.
