Your setup could be an interim solution, but I think monotone should provide a long term better answer to this problem (a solution would be useful even in the context of syncing only a subset of a branch). I assumed monotone eventually would permit partial syncing, but some posts seem to imply that the actual behavior is by design and will remain. The syntax for push/pull/sync suggest the former, so given monotone current rate of progress I'll just wait the next release ;-)

I have realized, with great embarassment, to know monotone operation much less than I thought, given that I started reading this list when the "server" was just a cgi.
I guess it's a punishment for just reading instead of using monotone.
