How about adding an option to log so that *it* prints the diffs as it goes? I'm not sure but I think this is a trivial addition and it would be nice to have at times I think.

In terms of the email idea, if you were to able to track which revision id's you have already sent notifications for (perhaps by sticking some custom cert on them, or keeping a file of their id's) and had some nice way of listing all available revision id's in the db into another file, a diff of these two files would give you all of the revisions you now need to send notifications for. Adding a "list revisions" command would almost do the trick here I think.
