The regexp for matching a Control-L character in Emacs
is a Control-L character.

M-: ( search-forward C-q C-l )    ; Lisp
M-: ( re-search-forward C-q C-l )

C-s C-q C-l                       ; Isearch

I can't speak to what Counsel expects from you.
