Yes. Its in tla-1.2.2rc2 and later. In that tree, arch warns, but allows,
for truncated tags.

I haven't submitted that (or any other) patch yet, because I'm waiting to
see what happens with the FSF copyright assignment. 

Speaking of which, how far along is the process of getting everybody with
copyright in arch to assign copyright to the FSF? Also, what's going to
happen to code that isn't handed over?
