Newbie swarmapps problems.

I've just got swarm installed (from Paul's rpm for Linux 7.0, all up2date patches applied) and am trying to compile swarmapps, but get this error.

address@hidden:~/swarm/swarmapps-2.1.1/heatbugs]$ make
gcc -c -g -O2 -march=i686 -Wall -Wno-import -Wno-protocol -Werror -D_GNU_SOURCE -DAPPNAME=heatbugs -DAPPVERSION=2.1.1 address@hidden -I/usr/include/swarm Heatbug.m
cc1obj: warnings being treated as errors
Heatbug.m:309: warning: `__objc_class_ref_SwarmObject' defined but not used
make: *** [Heatbug.o] Error 1

address@hidden:~]$ gcc --version
3.1

I've tinkered /usr/etc/Makefile.appl to not treat warnings as errors but this has no effect. Followed Paul's faq for this.

Any suggestions?
