We use Solaris 2.5.1 and 2.6 with egcs-1.1, gcc-2.7.2, and gcc-2.8,
and I've never personally seen this happen.  It has been reported
for GNU/Linux and Solaris, though.

I don't have anything to suggest but to trace in to find where
exactly, tcl_library gets lost.  Did you compile *everything* with
the same compiler toolchain?
