CVS doesn't allow you to do commits as root, if you take a look at the
source of CVS you will find the code, and a comment that explains it.
But in personal experiments, I have discovered that if you login as
your mortal user, and then "su -" and then try to do "cvs commit" it
works but takes as the author your mortal user. It doesn't work from
within Emacs though.
