In a minor flash of insight, it occurred to me to perform a minimal (no X, desktops, etc.) install of RULE/RH9 and then to perform updates and install the needed Apache/MySQL/PHP packages for us to test various CMS's or whatever. Hopefully, minor version number differences between programs will not be a show stopper, but feel free to send the details about the Apache version, etc., if you are so inclined.

At this point the system is running the latest stock RH9 i686 smp kernel and has had the updates, current for 24 Feb, installed. More progress reports as progress is made...

Okay, I will set the system up as a server with the basic Apache/PHP/MySQL and try out some of the CMS packages. Since we seem to have settled on using Rodolfo's server I prefer to invoke the principle of least surprise and install the OS/Distribution/software versions that are being used on that system. Rodolfo, what are you using now?

The system is built on RHL-7.3 (for which I am currently getting patches via Progeny) and uses exim, Apache, and MySQL as primary servers. I'll be happy to get version numbers of any package(s) you need, or to check whether something is/can be installed. Or I could just "rpm -qa | sort > pkglist" and send you that file if you prefer...
