Not quite correct, NT was OS/2 3.0, which was never released as OS/2.
Only in the early design phase, the system went as OS/2 3.0, before the
IBM/Microsoft schism.

OS/2 never had such features.  But NT has a hardware abstraction layer,
several core kernel services, and subsystems built on top of that.

This is not true, compatibility with DOS programs is extremely poor,
actually much worse than Windows 95 (or Windows 3.1).
