heatbugs is a graphical application, so obviously you need to be
running a graphical environment, such as X (GNOME/KDE etc) in order
for it to see any output.  You can run it in non-graphical "batch"
mode, by using the "-b" ccommand line argument.

To see what arguments "heatbugs" accepts, run heatbugs like so:

./heatbugs --help

and you'll see the list of options that heatbugs accepts.
