I found a darwin-patch for tcl 8.3.1 in www.darwinfo.org. In
http://mrcla.com/XonX/headersBeta.html you can find how to update the mac os
x headers and development tools from darwin's cvs. Mr. Fink at
http://fink.sourceforge.net/ is porting Gnome and has many porting-tips and
he is working on -ld compability for darwin.

I have an old Imac and I use almost only linux. I write with LyX, write Java
code wiht Simplicity for Java, use emacs to promgram Prolog and to search
acient greek texts in TLG, and I use Swarm also. That is all what I need, and
mozilla of course. I dont like linux only because the kernel; the open
source software is more important for me. Darwin is also open source and will
have better drivers than linux for the mac. On darwin one can run Aqua and
Gnome. I mean, it is better to have two desktops than two operating systems
and to have to reboot 6 times at day.
