Hi,
I've been away from Swarm and the list for the past six months
or so - administrative duties called. Now I'm back with a new Windows NT
4.0 machine and trying to get Swarm 2.1.1 up and running. I installed
everything from the Administrator, as directed, and then tried running from a
user account. Paths and environment variables seem to be ok - the Swarm
Terminal comes up fine. The problem is that I can't run any command files
from the user account. If I try to (for instance) run javacswarm while in
the /Swarm-2.1.1/bin directory, I get a file not found message from the
shell. If I do the same thing on the Administrator account, the command
file runs.
From the Administrator account I've given the user account
"full access" permissions (the files are of course owned by the
Administrators). However, using "dir" in the terminal shows -rwxr-xr-x
permissions for the javacswarm file and nothing I do with chmod will allow me to
add write permission for others, or to change permissions at all for that
matter.
BTW, .exe files run just fine.
I haven't seen reference to this problem in the FAQ or in the
archives. Clearly I'm doing/have done something wrong. Any
suggestions?
Many thanks,
Charles
