Hey hivemeisters,
I guess Xmas comes early this year, I just received my shrink wrapped
Swarm CD.
This is totally cool. To be able to run all the demos, Emacs and the GNU
tools from the CD ROM on an Wintel machie is nothing short of a miracle
(and with a fancy little Tk widget to launch everything - nice touch).
Finally I'll have a bulletproof answer to questions from e-mail
correspondents who are curious about Swarm can do - but suffer from
Unix anxiety (get a load of this - rumor has it that some people
actually _don't_use_Unix_).
Who knows, we might finally be entering an era where swarm-support will
be about modeling and not installation blues (frightening thought).
These past months have meant a great leap for Swarmkind: First the
release of superb documentation, automake/configure support,
installation packages for Debian, Solaris and Win/NT and now the CD. And
lest I forget, thanks to Paul for the RedHat RPMs and the ever crucial
FAQ.
Time to open the virtual champagne...
Marcus, Alex, you' the man.
