Hi all,
Hi Alan,

the following mail was sent by Alan to the FSF in search for
assistance - since it is UK specific, I'm forwarding it to the
U.K. list of the FSF Europe (information for Alan).

So what do we do about this? Do we have an ideal candidate?

Does it have to be a citizen of the UK? Otherwise I'm offering my
help. Holding a German Diploma in Physics and being the President of
the FSF Europe I might have some credibility in an official group.

Regards,
Georg

Richard:

Thanks for this....

Could you give me the name of someone in the UK who is a proponent of/
"expert" in
free software? The Commission on IPRs is going to be having a session of
8-10 copyright specialists in January in London to discuss the
recommendations that I forward ( next month) to the CIPR; it might take a
bit of "stick handling" to accomplish, but I want to see if this can be done
as would be of significant assistance, I think, in getting my suggestions to
the next level. The session will be composed of a pretty conservative bunch
and it would be best if such a UK "friend" of free software would be be
considered as credible by others in the session. The person does not have to
have a Ph.D. in computer science....but I think you will know what I mean.

Best
Alan
