 No, 10.3.5 (7M34). A fresh install from my set of Panther CDs, 
including the xCode CD to get a GCC to compile GCC 3.3.2.

 Okay, I'll download that. I just thought since someone here said they'd 
gotten 3.3.2 to compile I'd try that instead of a newer version which 
may have new and even more interesting bugs...
