 Could you perhaps have a gander at my reply to Fabien. I've copied all 
I have about my attempt to compile GNUstep under OS X on that.

 Of course, my ideal solution would still be to be able to just install 
GNUstep on a working OS X without screwing with Apple's stuff, because 
that would come in really handy for side-by-side comparisons and would 
also let me do work on GNUstep and paying work side by side, without 
having to reboot... but I've freed up another partition, so at worst I 
could install another MacOS X there (Jaguar, Panther, Cheetah, 
whatever...) and then put GNUstep on there without an alias to Apple's 
or whatever.

 Whatever gets it working is fine with me.
