Yes, if somebody with an appropriate background volunteers to do the work. I
very much doubt that the current developers of free Flash players will have
time to work on accessibility for quite a while, given the current resource
short-fall described in this article.

I also think HTML 5 accessibility is more important. It is widely believed
that HTML 5 (including HTML 5 video) will replace Flash on the Web for most
applications - the proprietary nature of Flash and the development of a truly
open standard in the form of HTML 5 are factors which combine in favour of the
latter. The WebM project also needs to be considered in this context; Google
and other corporations that are promoting and developing WebM don't want to be
constrained by patent-encumbered video formats in relation to which others can
extract royalty payments. No doubt this is largely for purely ecnomic and
strategic reasons, but it is nonetheless a welcome development.
