Ah, the jdk version problem rears its ugly head. The first thing is that the version number you use has to be exact. 2000 is the "epoch", it is a hidden tag the put in at Sun, I think because they want to make me angry. I have not found a way from the command line to find the epoch, but I have found that "synaptic", a graphical rpm manager, is able to see the epoch and it reports the version as 2000:1.5.0_01 or something like that. Assuming your RPM has the same epoch, you should set the required version as 2000:1.5.0_01, not 2000:1.5.0 as the error message below makes me suspect you did.

IF that does not work, then we have to try a little harder to see if your jdk has the epoch stamp just like mine does. If it does not, then you would just omit the 2000: part from the version number.

Just a warning. While testing StarLogo, I found jdk1 .5.0 performed undependably. Swarm will not even build with that jdk on Fedora Core 2. So I'm ratcheting back to 1.4.2_07.

It is not so easy!
 The rpm doesn't find jdk:

error: Failed build dependencies:
        jdk = 2000:1.5.0 is needed by swarm-2.2-1_SuSE_9.2
whereas my jdk is 1.5.0_01 and I corrected the path on swarm-2.2.spec.
What should I do?
