A little problems

Hi , all,
   I'm a new guy to swarm and I met a little problem.
My OS is RedHat 6.1 with egcs 1.1.2, when I upgrade 
gcc to gcc-2.95.3-27.i386.rpm which download from 
Paul E. Johnson's website, It reported:
>rpm -Uvh  gcc-2.95.3-27.i386.rpm
>only packages with major numbers <= 3 are supported by this version of RPM
>error: libstdc++-2.10.0-27.i386.rpm cannot be installed

Anybody can tell me Why? and how can I resolve it  ?
