All:

Sorry I've been gone (state of my life, I'm afraid), and I haven't yet been back to Guatemala so I haven't even started testing. However, in some good news I've been promised a second PC I could use for testing, so hopefully I'll now have two.

Yes, my server has perl, and it should be the latest version; not online right now so can't check. Doesn't everyone? MySQL and PHP are also there, and there may be other useful stuff too.

The server: Duron 1GHz, 512MB RAM, 40GB drive, 400GB transfer per month, running Red Hat Linux 7.1 (Seawolf?) with Plesk GUI on top. OpenSSH from updates installed, of course. I can easily provide whatever resources we require at this point.

I would prefer rule.org (if it's available, I can get it for just one
Euro (equals dollar)), but rule.idahaus.com is fine with me.

Damn, just how do you get that kind of pricing? In any case, I'd vote for "please do get the name!".

My thoughts on names:

1. I prefer the rule-project.org name as proposed.

2. I fully agree that having our own domain is vastly preferable.

3. We should have rule-project.org and proyecto-rule.org and projeto-rule.org and one in each language. These can then lead to the properly translated websites.

4. We should *not* confuse people by having two or more different domain names like linux-rule.org. Let's pick one and stick to it.

5. I suggested rule.indahaus.com primarily as a starting point. That is, my thought was to set it up immediately using that name and change it to the chosen one when available. Now, however, I believe we should simply start immediately with the chosen name.
