For what it's worth, for just this reason dual-fork files are deprecated on OS X in favor of separate resource files contained in an application bundle hierarchy. I'm not sure if FLTK supports that way of doing things, though.
It's a pain to launch a bundled app from the Terminal, though - you have to navigate inside the package, or use the nonstandard "open" command. This is an area of OS X that needs improvement, in my opinion.
Plus, you're right, I don't think FLTK supports this easily. - Paul
