OK, I think we've solved this problem thanks to Paul Schneider.  Note to
OS X users -- don't copy the exrdisplay app from the .dmg using "cp";
either drag it using the Finder, or use "ditto".  cp will drop the
resource fork, and then you get the weird can't-focus-window behavior.

At this point, the OS X and Linux dists of OpenEXR 1.0.5 look ready to go.  
The Windows port still has a few issues.  I'll be releasing a new tar.gz 
source dist with the missing Visual Studio 6.0 project files in a few 
hours.
