I have no problems with adding things that would allow for filtering
such things.  What I question is the need to make that behavior the
default.

Are selectors not possible to use for this?

Hmmm, maybe not, come to think of it, at least with log...  maybe we
should have log imply --next=1 or so when selectors have been used?

Well, I'm thinking that IF and WHEN the time comes, filling in those
might be forgotten (perhaps not necessarely by you)...  The same comes
to tests.
