Did you try glpsol on small lp instances (for example, on instances
included in glpk distribution)?

Could you please recompile the package from scratch? Its tarball can be
ftp'ed from <ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glpk/> or from some mirror ftp sites;
see <http://www.gnu.org/order/ftp.html>.
