Good UI is ALWAYS more programming work.

Presenting a case insensitive UI is sensible and worthwhile. Implementing the case insensitivity at the filesystem level is senseless and worthless.

It can and should be implemented at a higher level in the win32 API. Users do not and should not care about the implementation details of the filesystem.
