  I've been more focused on fixing the merge issues, as the branch had
diverged. I do compile and test on multiple real hardware, and
considered other minor changes lower priority than getting AGG to work
with the new framebuffer code.

  Some of this code is a little rough, but it'll be easier to clean up
once it's in master. Then future changes can be done with much smaller
branches. Note that most people will never run any of this code, bugs
will be mostly confined to embedded folks.
