Yes, I'm a pragmatist and working in a small business, I think it's
easiest to find a niche and fill it.  Lately, I'm finding enough work
among those who have some idea about sensible internet use, such as
when to use html email (it's fine for newsletters and certain types of
content IMO) and when to use text (basic communication, like a
discussion mailing list), that I'm probably not trying to convert many
heathens.  So, I've much respect for those of you that are sowing the
seeds in such stony ground, even if I am suspicious of some of the
wilder anecdotal claims.

Probably.  I think few of my customers have centralised IT (I can't
always tell, as often the web hosting isn't central even if the rest
of the IT is).  Even the medium/large enterprises, the people I'm
working for generally don't use the centralised IT's email software,
because they consider it defective in some way.  In the one case that
I can think of where they do, the centre is clueful.  See above.

Yes, but that would also be pedantic and taking it out of context -
what I meant was that I didn't intend to count any more comments to
-admin about that subject.

Anyway, my interpretation of the results: despite the heat/length of
the list discussion, few people cared either way and a small majority
of those wanted to keep filtering.
