I think it was an "odd" decision as well if only because the group
is relatively small at this point, but having been done, it is done
(this time). I suspect the committee members probably have the hint
that people aren't entirely happy with it for future.

However I wouldn't want the committee to get bogged down in minutiae
of each decision to make sure they are all acceptable to lots/all
members. Let the committee run things, and you can vote them down
next year if they make too many decision you don't like, unless they
do something terrible in the meantime.

Let's focus on the bigger questions. How will the public
announcement be made? As this is one of the key points at which AFFS
will be able to attract attention from both the community, it's
press, and further afield. And of course the distribution of that
announcement will affect who will see it...

Heck a little low grade controversy on the decision might be just
the thing for a /. story ;)
