Some upliftment from my side: the whole include exclude thing really confuses 
me too. It gets even worse when using placeholders.
But i checked. In my setup the complete pathes are needed for the globbing list.




same should work for the .cache .
I use the line '/path/to/home/.cache'  for example.

I have to apologise and say that I've read the man page a few times,
but managed to miss the part on the globbing filelists.

This is what I have now:

     duplicity --encrypt-key mykey --exclude-globbing-filelist
~/.duplicity-exclude ~/ "file:///Volumes/backup/"

The exclude file has the following:


It understands the cache line correctly, but fails on ignoring the
Dropbox folder.

I've tried changing the line to ~/Dropbox, ./Dropbox, Dropbox/*, etc.,
but it doesn't work.
