If possible though, I'd prefer to not add more dotfiles; the
files annoy me enough!
I'd be happy using a structure like this:
EXCLUDES="--exclude '**/*[Cc]ache*' "
But even that doesn't work for some reason. I suspect it's some
quoting issue, but I've played around with single and double quotes
various places, and can't get the damned thing to work.
What I mean by this is that if I manually copy and paste the
of the EXCLUDES variable into the duplicity command line, then it
works. It's only when I try and pull these out into a variable that
