+<p>Le informazioni seguenti sono state estratte da un rapporto inviatoci da
+Debora Badilla Huento, insegnante elementare dell'ECEN. Il suo impegno ha
+giocato un ruolo chiave nell'opera di sensibilizzazione sul Software Libero

+<p>Siamo una scuola privata cristiana che fornisce istruzione dal livello
+pre-elementare alle scuole superiori in accordo con i requisiti formativi
+statali.</p>
+
+<p>In Argentina, ogni provincia sviluppa la propria politica educativa. Nel
+caso della provincia di Neuquén, l'insegnamento di informatica alla scuola
+elementare non è obbligatorio. In effetti, l'informatica è una materia
+extracurricolare.</p>
+
+<h3>Motivazioni</h3>
+
+<p>La nostra scuola sostiene gli ideali di solidarietà , onestà , eccellenza
+nell'istruzione, l'osservanza della legge, la costante ricerca di verità ,
+giustizia ed amore in tutte le attività quotidiane. L'uso e l'insegnamento
+di software proprietario erano in contrasto con questi valori. I dirigenti
+scolastici e gli insegnanti erano anche sopraffatti dalla gestione delle
+licenze software e dalle numerose restrizioni che i termini di tali licenze
+imponevano alla scuola.</p>
+
+<p>Anche il valore istruttivo ed obiettivi a lungo termine sono stati presi in
+considerazione nel processo di decisione. Ci rendiamo conto che la
+formazione di studenti su come utilizzare una marca specifica di software è
+lontano dalla missione di una scuola.</p>
+
+<h3>Come abbiamo fatto</h3>
+
+<p>L'intero processo è durato quattro anni: abbiamo iniziato nel 2006 con
tutte
+le nostre postazioni di lavoro che usavano software proprietario e abbiamo
+concluso nel 2010 con tutti i computers della scuola che usano sistemi
+operativi e programmi completamente liberi, compresi gli uffici
+amministrativi e la biblioteca.</p>
+
+<p>Il piano è consistito principalmente in alcune misure rivolte alla
+sensibilizzazione sulle implicazioni filosofiche, etiche e socio-politiche
+dell'uso della tecnologia. Questo aspetto fondamentale è stato sostenuto e
+sottolineato per l'intera durata del processo, e messo in pratica attraverso
+la sostituzione graduale dei programmi proprietari esistenti con software
+libero.</p>
+
+<p>Nel primo anno abbiamo introdotto alcuni corsi teorici, cioè "Storia
+dell'informatica" e "Introduzione all'architettura dei computer". Abbiamo
+anche incluso gli aspetti legali del software quali i vari tipi di licenze,
+e abbiamo parlato dell'impegno degli utilizzatori e degli sviluppatori di
+software libero verso la comunità .</p>
+
+<p>Abbiamo fatto corsi di formazione agli insegnanti di informatica e di tutte
+le altre materie delle scuole superiori, agli insegnanti delle scuole di
+livello elementare, ai membri del consiglio di amministrazione ed al
+personale amministrativo, e al personale della biblioteca.</p>
+
+<p>Per effettuare la migrazione sono state impiegate le seguenti risorse: </p>
+
+<ul>
+ <li>1 insegnante di informatica per il livello pre-elementare ed
+elementare. Questo insegnante si occupa anche della manutenzione dei
+computer nelle classi e della qualificazione degli altri insegnanti e del
+personale della scuola nell'uso del sistema operativo.</li>
+ <li>5 insegnanti di informatica per la scuola di livello superiore. </li>
+ <li>1 tecnico di PC e reti che si occupa della riparazione dei computers
della
+scuola di livello superiore. </li>
+ <li>1 programmatore di software libero assunto per scrivere il sistema di
+gestione amministrativa. </li>
+ <li>1 professore di informatica assunto per qualificare il personale della
+scuola. </li>
+</ul>
+
+<p>I costi della migrazione sono stati sostenibili e ben all'interno del budget
+della scuola:</p>
+
+<ul>
+ <li>riparazioni dei PC: nel 2006, ECEN ha assunto un tecnico di computer al
+quale ha fornito la documentazione del software libero e un DVD del sistema
+operativo in uso. Da allora la scuola lavora con lui. </li>
+ <li>formazione: 60 ore di formazione per qualificare il personale della
scuola.</li>
+</ul>
+
+<h3>Dedizione al software libero</h3>
+
+<p>Al 2010, stiamo usando sistemi operativi completamente liberi, non in dual
+boot, come segue:</p>
+

+ <li>22 PC nelle classi pre-elementari ed elementari (studenti di 4-12 anni)
</li>
+ <li>24 PC nelle classi superiori (studenti di 13-17 anni) </li>

+lavoro. Nell'ottobre 2009 la scuola ha sponsorizzato il Software Freedom Day
+nella città di San MartÃn de los Andes.</p>

+<p>The following information was extracted from a report submitted to us
+by ECEN Elementary Teacher Debora Badilla Huento. Her commitment played
+a key role in raising Free Software awareness and ultimately getting
+the school to migrate.</p>
+

+
+<p>City of Neuquén, capital of the
+<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuquen_Province";>
+Province of Neuquén</a>, in the Argentine Patagonia Region.</p>
+
+<h3>About</h3>
+
+<p>We are a private Christian school providing education from
+pre-elementary to high school levels in accord with state educational
+requirements.</p>
+
+<p>In Argentina, each province develops its own educational policy. In
+the case of the province of Neuquén, teaching computer science at
+elementary schools is not obligatory. Actually, computer science is an
+extracurricular subject.</p>
+
+<h3>Motivation</h3>
+
+<p>Our school advocates the ideals of solidarity, honesty, excellence in
+education, the observance of law, the constant search for truth, justice
+and love in all daily activities. Using and teaching proprietary
+software was in contrast with these values. School directors and
+teachers were also overwhelmed by software license management and by the
+many restrictions that the terms of those licenses imposed on the
+school.</p>
+
+<p>Educational quality and long term goals were also taken into account
+during the decision process. It is our understanding that training
+students on how to use a specific brand of software is far from the
+mission of a school.</p>
+
+<h3>How We Did It</h3>
+
+<p>The whole process lasted four years: we started in 2006 with all our
+work stations using proprietary software and concluded in 2010 with full
+free operating systems and programs in all the school's computers,
+including the administration offices and the library.</p>
+
+<p>The plan consisted mainly of several measures aimed at raising
+awareness about the philosophical, ethical and socio-political
+implications of the use of technology. This fundamental aspect was
+maintained and underlined during the whole process and put into practice
+by the gradual substitution of existing proprietary programs with Free
+Libre Software programs.</p>
+
+<p>During the first year we introduced some theoretical courses, namely
+"Computer Science History" and "Introduction to Computer Architecture".
+We also covered the legal aspects of software such as the various types
+of licenses, and we talked about the commitment of Free Software users
+and developers to the community.</p>
+
+<p>Training courses were given to high school level teachers in the IT
+and all other areas, to teachers of the elementary level, to the Board
+of Directors and administration staff, and to the librarian.</p>
+
+<p>The following human resources were employed to carry out the
+migration: </p>
+
+<ul>
+ <li>1 Computer Science teacher for the pre-elementary and elementary
+ levels. This teacher is also in charge of maintaining the computers
+ in the classroom and qualifying other teachers and school staff in the
+ use of the operating system.</li>
+ <li>5 Computer Science teachers for the high school Level.</li>
+ <li>1 PC and network technician in charge of repairing the computers
+ of the high school level.</li>
+ <li>1 Free Software programmer hired to write the Administrative
+ Management System.</li>
+ <li>1 IT Professor hired to qualify the school staff.</li>
+</ul>
+
+<p>Migration costs were affordable and well within the school's
+budget:</p>
+
+<ul>
+ <li>PC Repairs: In 2006, ECEN hired a computer technician who was
+ provided with Free Software documentation and a DVD of the operating
+ system in use. The school has been working with him since then.</li>
+ <li>Training: 60 training hours to qualify the school staff.</li>

+<h3>Commitment to Free Software</h3>
+
