Did you actually try the Xresources file included with TLF>

I've attached a screenshot of UXterm running with that very same set of
colors and my white background is more gray than yours providing better
contrast.  I have also found that on GNOME the Xresources file isn't
always read so the 'xrdb' command has to be run before starting
[U]Xterm|[u]rxvt.

Please compare my screenshot to yours.
