I tried building the latest release of HDF5 (1.2.2) and I ran into new
portability problems. I suppose I could back-port the R plugin to the
HDF5 1.2.0 build I have.. Unless this is more than curiousity to you
(i.e. you need R-1.2.0 for some new feature) I'm just inclined to wait
for HDF5 1.4 and get that working..
It's easy to build the HDF5 plugin on Unix systems, though. Simply:
$ R INSTALL hdf5_0.8.tar.gz
