I have now recompiled and tested your 23 Jan snapshot.  (My copy of gperf
was broken)

The output from the forwarding test is now quite different but still a
failure:
PASS: archiver
{r*@:ifd} address@hidden:address@hidden:8i16f24d32}
m1: [16777217 0.00 3.00]
FAIL: forwarding

1 of 2 tests failed
===================

That 16777217 is clearly misaligned.
