LinuxPPC R5 is really old.

You should upgrage to linuxPPC 2000Q4

you have just to dowmload the new installer or buy the cd for 14$. Since
version 2000 linuxppc is very easy to install. And why not order SuSe 7.
Suse is easy, has a good support a has all what you need in order to run
swarm properly.
