Problems using VNC

I finally got my Swarm simulation running (I will post some info if
anyone is interested in using Holland's system for adaptive agents), and
I want to be able to monitor my simulation runs from work.  Has anyone
had any success running Swarm apps using VNC (Virtual Network
Computing)?  I tried running BLT demo apps and they worked fine, but
heatbugs gave me an "aborted" message and my program core dumped.

I am behind the times running Swarm 1.4 under LinuxPPC R4 (I had to fix
my system so that I could concentrate on getting everything working
first), but I doubt that has anything to do with it.
